Mill plant gearbox installation
Hindle Mason Projects’ extensive concrete knowledge helped to play a key role in the quick and efficient installation of a new mill plant gearbox for a leading platinum-group metals producer.
The project harnessed our specialist concrete core drilling expertise to remove the existing gearbox’s concrete-anchor bolts. This while also widening and deepening the prevailing holes for the larger and wider fasteners of the new larger mill gearbox. In total, we core drilled six holes, each 1,5m in depth and 80cm in diameter. Left to an expert, the holes were drilled quickly, efficiently and accurately, as well as in a cost-effective manner and without the risk of damaging the existing concrete structure. Certainly, our core drilling services also provide the safest and less intrusive way to drill through concrete.
To complete the project, we then grouted the new bolt anchors in place. We used a three-part, multi-purpose grouting system for this application. This is considering that it is the best solution for high-strength grouting and fixing of anchor bars, fasteners and tie rods.
