Concrete cooling tower repairs

Hindle Mason Projects successfully completed concrete repairs to a mechanical cooling tower that was damaged by fire.
 
We were subcontracted by a leading cooling tower specialist, with who we have nurtured a close working relationship, to complete the repairs to a high specification.
 
Quality repair products were used throughout. These combined with our skills and experience working with these products as an approved applicator and our extensive concrete repair capabilities and knowledge again ensured a successful outcome.
 
For shutter and pour applications, we used a free-flowing, high strength, cementitious micro concrete with a maximum aggregate size of 9mm.

Two state-of-the-art systems were deployed for hand-patch and skim coat repairs, respectively. They included a single-component, polymer modified, fibre reinforced, low shrinkage repair mortar with a corrosion inhibitor. The other was a cementitious mortar for levelling and repairing minor concrete defects, such as pores and honeycombs.
 
For a protective coating, we used a two-part polymer modified cementitious waterproof mortar slurry. It consists of a liquid polymer and a cement-based mix incorporating special admixtures.
