Concrete bunded reagent plant repair

The project provided Hindle Mason Projects with an opportunity to again demonstrate the extent of our skills and experience.
 
We were appointed by a longstanding client to undertake concrete repairs at its bunded reagent plant. Over time, the sulphuric acid and copper had severely corroded areas of the concrete slab below the reagent tanks and their plinths, compromising structural integrity.
 
It was an extensive undertaking that entailed repairing and then acid-proofing about 63m2 of existing concrete. The corroded concrete was first broken with jackhammers and removed. Thereafter, exposed areas were pressure washed to purge them of debris and contaminants. The cracks in the plinths and the floor were then repaired with a free-flowing, high strength, cementitious micro concrete with a maximum aggregate size of 9 mm before being treated with a chemical resistant coating. As is the case with all our projects, it was a practical, cost-effective and efficient process.
