Concrete pump foundations rebuilt
One of the most important factors for reliable and trouble-free pump operations is well-constructed foundations, such as these that we built for this mining client as part of the extensive repairs that we undertook to a large concrete tank.
Each 1,3m x 900mm, these stout foundations provide stability and rigid support. They will be able to absorb the normal strains and shocks that may be transferred to them during operations. These quality foundations also minimise vibration that the pump drivers create, or external sources, such as piping, create.
Importantly, they will also help to maintain alignment between the pumps and driver. This will ensure equipment reliability. Without a good foundation, there is a possibility that distortion of the baseplate may occur due to the ground settling. This is in addition to thermal distortion of the baseplate; excessive piping forces; and pressure or vacuum forces that occur because of expansion joints.
The baseplates for these pumps are secured by anchor bars which were fixed in place with a high-strength epoxy-resin grout. This grout is corrosion and chemical; high vibration; and stress and impact resistant. It also provides high-compressive strength and low-coefficient thermal expansion.
