Flotation plant concrete repairs
Hindle Mason Projects is undertaking major concrete repairs to Implats’ UG2 low-level flotation plant.
Due to the highly corrosive environment in which these structures operate, they degrade quickly. Therefore, they need to be restored to their original state and then protected to safeguard them against deleterious agents moving forward. This will delay the onset of corrosion and optimise the lifecycle costing of this infrastructure. All of the plant’s concrete columns, critical structural elements, have experienced serious wear and tear over time and, therefore, need to be repaired by an expert.
Furthermore, we are preparing a concrete base for a new tank installation in the plant. It is being repaired before receiving a sophisticated general purpose bituminous waterproofing coating and vapour barrier, one of many quality concrete repair and protection systems for which we are an approved applicator.
